Award winning Kenyan rapper Octopizzo has made it to the 2021 Grammy Awards consideration list. The Kibra-born and raised artiste is now the first Kenyan rapper to make it to the Grammy’s consideration list.
The rapper took to his social media accounts to announce the good news while informing his fans and followers that he is up for the 2021 Grammy Awards consideration list. This announcement comes a few weeks before the 63rd 2021 Grammy Awards, which are set to go down in January next year.
This new development comes barely two years after the talented star made his maiden acquaintance with the Grammys. He had previously been invited to the 60th edition of the prestigious Grammy Awards that were held in January 28, 2018 in New York.
With his name on the consideration list, Octopizzo has now moved from being a spectator to a nominee, proving once again that he is one of the best rappers in the game and that despite his background; he can always rise to the top.
Some of the songs selected in the consideration list are Octopizzo’s biggest hits. These include Che Che and Wakiritho, which have been considered under the Best Rap performance category, Another day is listed under Record of the Year category, and Kamikaze and Another day both selected under Best Melodic Rap category.
Octopizzo took the opportunity to tell off his ‘haters’ who have been doubting his skills and prominence in the rap industry, telling them that it is about time they acknowledged his position.
The rapper has been considered alongside Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz, Rayvanny and Zuchu. The nominees will be announced on 24th November, 2020.
