Female lawyer killed in suspected domestic violence case in Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya: A female lawyer working with an investment company was Friday morning killed after a suspected domestic violence in Buruburu, Nairobi.

Ms Linda Wanjiku, 27 and a mother of one was found in her house Friday morning with a head injury and rushed to Jamaa Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her husband who runs a bar in Buruburu was picked up by police for interrogation as part of investigations into the incident.

Buruburu OCPD Richard Kerich said they are yet to know the cause of her death. He added they are waiting for postmortem report to tell what caused the death.

“The young woman died in hospital and we are yet to know what caused the death. Am told she had an injury but let us wait for investigation report,” said Kerich.

Friends and relatives gathered outside the house where the family has been staying as police arrived alongside the husband. They described her as a humble lawyer.

Neighbours said there was commotion from the house on Friday morning. CID officers took over investigations into the incident.

Ms Wanjiku worked with IPS, an investment company, her friends said.
