Valentine's Day is just around the corner and this red letter day has not yet lost its scarlet touch, maintains CRYSTAL OKUSA
The knows...
Most Pulsers are busy planning how to spend the day with their loved ones. If you are one of them then you have of course given little thought as to what you are going to wear on the day.
You could spend it with your family, friends or loved one. The time and consideration that you take in selecting what to wear will go a long way in showing how much this day and the person or people you are going to spend it with mean to you.
The guys should take time to complement their chicks by dressing up, too.
Guys’ ideas
If you are going for a date in the evening and you do not want to go all out but prefer wearing jeans, black is the colour to work with. Pair them with a dressy shirt and tie so the cocktail dress your chick is wearing does not look out of place.
If you are going for brunch or friends get-together for lunch, wear bright colours so you stand out in the sun.
If you are not dating and you prefer spending the day with a family member, dressing down may be interpreted to mean you do not value time spent with them, so take time to dress in something comfortable but still fancy for the day.
Chicks’ ideas
When going out for a date with a guy you have not known for too long, do not go showing off too much. Look classy for the date but also appealing enough so he does not think you are high maintenance.
Valentine should be a day to make yourself happy by how you spend it and what you wear. So no matter what you are doing on this day, family or dates, just be comfortable. Dressing for get-togethers needs to be a fancy affair, but being Valentine, dressing up in a little red here and there will not hurt.
Always remember to accessories with belts, bags and jewellery. This also works if you are not into wearing red outfits during Valentine’s Day.
