South Mugirango By-Election

The race for the South Mugirango parliamentary seat now starts afresh after the interim independent electoral commission gazetted the date for the by-election. Political parties have a month and a half to nominate candidates ahead of the June 10th by-election. Meanwhile, IIEC chairman Hassan Issack has expressed confidence that the ongoing voter registration exercise will proceed and conclude successfully. Immigration Minister Otieno Kajwang on the other hand has asked for more money from treasury to process national identity cards in time for the voter registration exercise.
