King Bird, the premier motorcycle assembly firm in western Kenya has entered into collaboration with Lifan industries of China.

Lifan is famous and the strongest company in China. It is ranked one of the best in the world. This new alliance is expected to improve the quality of motorcycles sold and ensure customers derive satisfaction.

Mr Zhang Jianguo, the managing director says the co-operation will boost changes in the transport sector, especially among the youth and the region’s economy.

He said: "We want to create employment opportunities through improved technology, especially for the unemployed youth."

"We are the only authorised dealers of Lifan motorcycles, which is an added advantage to King Bird, which has been assembling and servicing the motorcycles," he said.

Spreading its wings from its humble beginning along Obote road, Kisumu, to Eldoret, Nakuru, and the latest distributor in Nairobi, the firm wants to serve its customers better.

King Bird agents are found in Kisii, Kericho, Kitale, Bungoma, Molo, Litein, Kakamega, but intend to increase the number given the rising demand of our products.

But, this is not enough for the dealer with its eyes set across the country, given the new distributor of our products opened in Nairobi.

"Going out and meeting our customers, forms part of our policy so that their ideas go into designing motorcycles of quality," says Jianguo.

King Bird and their new partners take into consideration the three factors that make the industry succeed—sales, services and spares—that are found in our shops.

"With over 40 qualified technicians employed to work with us, we promise the producing the best is our goal and we cannot afford to go against our customers’ demands. This is also evidenced through the staffs that are determined to work with us and offer their services to the best," he said.

The new assembling plant will start operations soon. It is expected that the new plant will increase the number of motorcycles assembled from 30 to 100 units.

The firm is determined to ensure Kenyans have access to this mode of transport, which is reliable and affordable. To walk into any shop with King Bird motorbikes is never seen as a loss but a gain since transport is made easier or others could turn the opportunity into income generating venture.

"By bringing Lifan into our fold, the ideal motorcycle to embrace is King Bird and we value customers coming for inquiries," he says.
