President William Ruto on Friday led the country in celebrating the milestones women have made in the country and rewarded some women with lucrative government posts as the world marked International Women's Day.

He announced that his administration has appointed 10 women as ambassadors to various countries and six as deputy envoys in recognition of women's role in the country.
