Batman is about to make history as the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The iconic DC Comics character will be honoured on September 26 at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of The Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum according to Billboard.

Michael Empric, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, will attend the ceremony to confirm this milestone for the superhero.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, shared her excitement about the event.

"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honour our first superhero on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! The one, the only, Batman!" she said.

She added that fans around the world would be thrilled to know that Batman’s star will be placed next to those of Adam West, who played Batman on TV, and Bob Kane, one of Batman’s co-creators.

Key figures from DC Comics, including Jim Lee, president, publisher, and chief creative officer, and Anne DePies, senior vice president and general manager, will be present at the event.

Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will host the ceremony.

Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, created by Bob Kane with contributions from writer Bill Finger.

Over the years, the character has become one of the most well-known and enduring superheroes in comic book history.

In 1966, Batman leaped from comic books to television screens with The Batman TV series, which starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.

The show’s memorable theme song, composed by Neal Hefti, won a Grammy Award and became a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Batman has appeared in countless films, TV shows, and comic books over the decades.

From the 1989 Tim Burton-directed movie Batman, to Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed The Dark Knight Trilogy, and the most recent The Batman (2022) starring Robert Pattinson, the superhero continues to be a significant figure in pop culture.

Fans are expected to gather for the ceremony, celebrating the legacy of the Caped Crusader.
