With the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA) set to host their 9th edition this week, attendees can anticipate an experiential treat.

From red carpet VIP grand arrivals to electrifying performances by top stars, expect every moment to be streamed live, courtesy of the title sponsor, Infinix, whose latest phone will capture every action.

The PMVA is the biggest annual music award in the region, celebrating and honouring music creators for their exemplary work.

Winners typically receive a prestigious trophy and enjoy full support from the Standard Group PLC entertainment platform all year long.

The PMVA journey begins with a call for entries, with artists and their fans submitting music videos.

A team of judges, professionals in the creative sector, then vets the entries, from which nominees are selected. These nominees undergo a competitive voting process involving the public. An audit process ultimately determines the winners.

The 9th edition of the PMVA saw hundreds of entries submitted. Winners of the 2022 (8th edition) include Ndovu Kuu (featuring Bien the Baldman) for Best Male, Nadia Mukami for Best Female, Mtemi for New Artist, Ricky Becko for Video Director of the Year, and DJ Grauchi for Best DJ, among others.
