SCHOOLS: Otieno Oyoo stun Maseno School to reach quarters

Otieno Oyoo High School will face off Cardinal Otunga in the Nyanza Region Secondary School rugby quarterfinals to be played at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho on Thursday.

This is after the Boaz Adit inspired outfit made history by beating Kisumu County champions Maseno School for the first time 17-10 in their opening Group B match.

Peter Njoroge scored two tries against Maseno, and Humphrey Thomas scored one try, Peter Njoroge converted it for the win.

Otieno Oyoo sealed their top spot with a 12-0 win over Gendia.

Speaking after the win, Otieno Oyoo coach Oscar Okaron said team work amongst the technical bench and playing unit has helped grow the team.

The Otieno Oyoo technical bench is made up of assistant coach Henry Otieno and Benard Omondi as the strength and conditioning coach.

“We are growing rugby at Otieno Oyoo step by step after last year’s debut and now we can see the fruits of hard work.

“We lost to Maseno at the county finals despite playing well and now we have shown that we are good,” said Okaron.
