Menengai Oilers will play Kenyatta University's Blak Blad in the semifinal playoffs after the 2023-2024 Kenya Cup regular season ended over the weekend.

Oilers sealed their playoff spot after finishing third with 42 points. The Nakuru-based outfit ended their campaign with a 34-23 win over Catholic Monks.

Blak Blad, meanwhile, collected five points without breaking a sweat after the already relegated Homeboyz dished out their second walk over of the campaign.

The university students finished sixth with 24 points, same as Nakuru, but with a game in hand. Blak Blad are set to play Kisumu RFC in a rescheduled match in Nakuru on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Nondescripts, who were not playing in the top tier league last season, made a comeback of the season after not only getting promoted back to Kenya Cup, but also qualifying for the semifinal playoffs.

Nondies will play Kenya Harlequin in the other semifinal playoffs. In what will be a repeat of their final season encounter that saw the Ngong Road-based outfit come from behind 13-6 at the half to win 21-13, all eyes will be on Nondies to see if they will make it all the way to the final.

On the other hand, Kabras Sugar came from behind to defeat archrivals KCB 14-10 as the sugar men ended the regular season on an unbeaten record.

Victory saw Kabras, who had already secured a home semifinal in the upcoming playoffs, end the season with 54 points.

KCB, who are second with 45 points, have also booked a home semis and the two top sides will await to face the winner of the semifinal playoffs.

Meanwhile, Catholic Monks joined Homeboyz in the relegation list after losing their 10th match of the season against Oilers.

Monks and Homeboyz will now play in the second tier Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship next season.
