Reappointment of six former Cabinet Secretaries by ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001499142/ruto-makes-two-steps-to-win-gen-z-but-the-harder-part-awaits-him">President William Ruto< has been met with criticism.
In his list of ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001499256/rutos-nominates-11-people-to-make-up-new-cabinet">11 Cabinet secretaries< announced Friday, Ruto nominated Prof Kithure Kindiki, Aden Duale, Alice Wahome, Soipan Tuya, Davis Chirchir and Rebecca Miano.
But former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) presidents Nelson Havi and ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001499232/go-for-technocrats-and-save-the-country-ahmednasir-tells-ruto-on-new-cabinet">Ahmednasir Abdullahi< have argued that the six were ineligible to be re-appointed or to hold public office.
“The dismissal from the office of the Cabinet Secretaries means that they are ineligible to hold any public office forever: appointive or elective,” said Havi on his X handle.

Abdullahi agreed with Havi, saying ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001499143/mudavadi-the-new-one-man-cabinet">Ruto’s dismissal of the CSs< under the Constitution “implied a grave omission or commission”.
“In dismissing his Cabinet, President William Ruto was satisfied that their conduct (and) performance in office of their omissions rose to a constitutional level that warranted their dismissal... that grave omission or commission hasn’t been erased or addressed in the past week and can’t be addressed in the future,” said Abdullahi.
