I'm no longer in UDA, says ex-MP Kimani Ngunjiri

Former Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri now says he is no longer a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

Speaking on Spice FM on Wednesday, Ngunjiri accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of “short-changing loyalists” who had campaigned for them in the 2022 General Election.

“I worked for UDA yet got no roles. Even before we could remove ourselves from the party, we had already been removed. They are giving people positions but where am I? I was almost dying fighting for UDA,” he claimed. 

The former lawmaker said he will either join another political party or go independent. 

He, however, maintains that he will continue to support President William Ruto.

Ngunjiri, who lost the Bahati Parliamentary seat in 2022, was among 224 candidates who were nominated ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001469021/here-is-the-full-list-of-cas-nominees">as Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS).<

The High Court would then deal a blow on the nominations, terming the creation of the positions as unconstitutional.
