Kiharu MP ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001481728/brace-for-hard-times-ahead-kenya-kwanza-leaders-now-tell-kenyans">Ndindi Nyoro< has told former President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop sponsoring demonstrations through the Azimio leader ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001488075/uda-shaken-by-railas-plans-to-revive-street-demos-in-new-year">Raila Odinga<.
Nyoro claimed that the former president was out to antagonise President William Ruto's government through demonstrations.
Speaking in Kiharu, the MP said Ruto's administration will not be shaken by Azimio ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001487973/stop-your-lies-raila-tells-ruto-as-he-warns-of-fresh-mass-protests">threats to return to the streets<.
“The former President has been financing protests, so it would be prudent for him to thank Kenyans for the two terms he served as the head of state and stop planning to topple Ruto's government,” he claimed.

The lawmaker said the government will not be moved by the protests designed to favour some politicians.
Kigumo MP Joseph Munyoro said those calling for the demonstrations were pursuing their political interests.
Munyoro accused the opposition of engaging in selfish political acts as the government has managed to bring down the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/business/article/2001488185/after-a-difficult-year-will-govt-dig-itself-out-of-financial-hole">cost of essential commodities<.
“The cost of maize flour has gone down among other essential commodities and calling for the demos is not worth it,” said Munyoro.
The opposition leader has vowed to organise Kenyans to liberate themselves from oppression and exploitation in 2024.
In his New Year message, Raila said 2023 has ended with difficulties just as it had started and Kenyans were distressed by what he described as the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/politics/article/2001488134/raila-promises-to-push-for-end-of-oppression-high-taxation">highest cost of living< and levels of taxation never witnessed in 60 years.
Raila said in 2024, citizens shall exercise sovereign power of the people to stop death and suffering in the nation.
The former prime minister claimed the Kenya Kwanza Alliance regime was a curse and told Kenyans to join hands and stop it from ruining the country.
“We are willing to build a coalition of citizens who are willing to plan, mobilise, and organise effectively to reclaim and take back our nation. When that time comes, we expect all Kenyans to set aside their differences and engage in actions to restore dignity to livelihoods,” he said.
The Azimio leader said there was a time when the government’s word counted and wananchi did not have to doubt but today, Kenyans have to cross-check and double check whatever the government says because “the Kenya Kwanza regime has made lying a tool for governing.”
