Cabinet nominees' integrity questioned

An expert has said that the parliament still needs to monitor the integrity of the cabinet nominees throughout the vetting.
Speaking on Spice FM, Evance Ogada, an advocate of the High Court has expressed his disappointment with the vetting process.
Ogada questioned the grounds on which the Cabinet Secretaries nominees are being vetted.
"Legislators and the parliament currently under Moses Wetangula have been a disappointment. We as citizens need to ask ourselves whether we are making the right decision or do we need to take only the 500,200 and elect people with horrible grades," posed Ogada.
Ogada further questioned how some individuals with fraud cases still managed to be nominated and went through the vetting.

He criticized President William Ruto for bringing back the cabinet members that he had fired.
"Somebody is a crook who stole from a parastatal and amassed a lot of money yet that gentleman goes and buys his way into elected office. People who can't even express themself can't even think are being sanitised through these fraud-screwed processes," he added.
Ogada opined that the Independent Electoral Commission should be making good use of the constitution to wipe out some corrupt leaders.
The constitution requires that any individual who is holding a public office should be free of corruption cases.
Ogada also questioned the wealth declarations of the nominees during the vetting process.
"It's not enough to tell me that in 2 years you have grown over 100,000 wealth portfolio. As a question of accountability," he asked.
Ogada urged the government to consider and take seriously the constitutional convention which majors on leaders integrity.
The question of integrity has always aroused reactions in the country with the latest incidence of the Kenyan youth protesting and demanding accountability.
However, the president has promised to take a new turn of leadership and form a broad-based government.
