Dawoodi Bohras mark Kenya's independence day with charity

The Dawoodi Bohra community of Nairobi marked Kenya’s 60th Independence Day today by hoisting the national flag and donating 3 tonnes of foodstuff to the needy at Saifee Park, Karen.

The event held in Saifee Park in Karen on December 12 conformed to the directives of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin CGH, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohras.

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, alias Jalang'o, led the ceremony and unfurled the national flag, honouring the country’s struggle for freedom.

The food donation was part of Project Rise, a humanitarian initiative launched by His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, CGH, to alleviate poverty and hunger.

The ceremony was graced by various dignitaries, including Lang’ata constituency officials.
