Coast Junior golfers brought pride to their Parents after scooping various medals in the 3rd Edition of the 2024 Us Kids Mombasa Local Tour Golf Tournament played at the Par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County over the weekend.

The daylong 18 holes tourney organized by the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) Coast Region was open to Juniors aged 21 years and below as at 22nd April 2024 was also a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event that also counts for the JGF Order of Merit (OOM).

Diani's Kenny Salmann ruled the boys 6 years old and under carding 55 gross to emerge the overall winner while Nyali's Tiras Kaguta was the king of the 7 years old category scooping the medal on 56 grosses.

"My Mum Mary Kandu who is also a Junior Golf Coach has been training me here at Nyali on every weekend when not in School and my game have been improving. I look forward to becoming a good Golfer in the Country. Iam so happy to be the winner," said an excited Kaguta.

Niccolo De Marchis also from Diani returned 55 gross to win the Boys 8 years section and Nyali's Samara Teneva was the 8 years old and Under winner on 58 grosses.

The 9 years old section for Boys was won by Diani's Cyril Theuri on 53 grosses as Clubmate Marcel Adeyemo on 61 gross and Nyali's Emmanuel Kamau with 58 grosses were the winners of the boys 10 years and Girls 9 to 10 years categories respectively.

Diani continued to dominate the scene with Lucas Kampa scooping the Boys 12 years old Medal on 85 gross and Nyali's Kaniaka Shah was the Girls winner of 1 to 12 years old after recording 116 grosses.

Nyali's Shay Chauhan who a day before scooped the Junior title in the Kenya Association of Manufacture's Golf Tourney at the same venue, proved his dominance again claiming the overall medal in the Boys 13 to 14 years old and his clubmate Angel Kiama was the Girl's winner in the same age category after carding 128 grosses.

Aydan Jamal also from Nyali brought 83 gross to win the 15 to 18 boys' section and there was no any Girl who participated in the same age bracket.

This tournament played on strokes play format was the 3rd edition from the six rounds planned for this year with the next action to be staged Diani's Diamond Leisure Golf Resort in South Coast of Mombasa, Kwale County on Sept,29th.

It will then move to Vipingo Baobab Ridge Golf Resort in Kilifi County on October,13th before returning back to Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County on October,27th.
