CAF Confederations Cup: Kenya Police seek to drink Ethiopia Coffee at Nyayo Stadium

Kenya Police will be seeking to rewrite history today when they take on Ethiopian Coffee Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round at Nyayo Stadium.
Police will be making their inaugural appearance on the continental stage after winning the FKF Cup last season and head coach Salim Babu has expressed confidence in his team's readiness, after what he says has been a good preseason.
"We have players with the required experience on the big stages from their previous clubs, so we have an idea of what to expect. We aim to be aggressive and score as many goals as possible at home," said Babu.
Police captain Musa Mohammed added that they have renewed hope and energy after the investment and support they have received from the club.
"The players are upbeat after a good camp where we not only bonded but built on our chemistry on the field. We are ready and confident of winning at home. I call upon Kenyans to come out in numbers because Police will be the face of Kenya today," said Mohammed.

Last weekend the club held the Kenya Police FC Day where the team stars were feted and new signings unveiled.
The club patron, Raymond Omollo, flanked by the Executive Chairman Nyale Munga, the Board of Trustees, and dozens of partners, witnessed the historic moment as the club signed a record 16 players.
"This significant move is set to bolster the men and women teams ahead of continental duties and league action. Our Talent Development Academy model has a sustenance plan across all levels, so we will always have talent for local and global markets," said Omollo.
Police have signed Ugandan forward Alfred Leku, formerly of Kiyovu Sports of Rwanda, and Senegalese midfielder El Hadji Abdou Karim amongst the ranks at theclub in bid to bolster the team.
The squad also includes former Tusker FC winger Eric Zakayo, AFC Leopards' Jaffari Owiti, Daniel Sakari, Jackson Macharia, Geoffrey Onyango, Brian Musa, and goalkeeper John Samuel Njau.
Board of Trustees Chairman, Bishop Fred Akama, lauded the partners for their solid team sponsorship during the concluded season and the partners of the Annual Kenya Police Day.
"The sponsors have been a huge part of the club's success. We laud DTB Bank, National Bank Of Kenya, 748 Air Services, and Betika for investing in our project,"said Akama.
