Looks like Riggy G's goose is cooked and he stoked a few logs into the fire

It appears his goose is cooked, to use the English expression about the inevitability of a phenomenon. I am talking about Rigathi Gachagua aka Riggy G and the impending attempt at his impeachment.

Since Riggy G is a student of literature, he will understand when we say his political eclipsing, if not capitulation, is non-tragic. As our Swahili ancestors warned: msiba wa kujitakia hauna kilio. It means it’s self-inflicted harm does not elicit sympathy.

Riggy G’s political career was built around the idea of dismantling the Kenyatta political dynasty in central Kenya.

He expended a particular zeal to lambast former Prezzo Uhuru Kenyatta, who has maintained a studious silence since leaving office.

Prezzo UK did not utter a word even when Riggy G claimed, without adducing any evidence, that the nation’s intelligence folks were looking for him and the former Prezzo in connection with Gen-Z protests.

Months earlier, Riggy G was on local radio stations offering a grovelling apology to Mama Ngina, as he did for Prezzo UK in recent days. These histrionics can only affirm Riggy G’s rising panic that his political calculus, right from the start, was misguided and bound to end in tragedy.

And he has realised, rather belatedly, that political power is transient; one can swing from towering heights to pits of despair in one fell swoop.

I suppose that’s the lesson Prezzo UK tried to transmit, but Riggy G paid no heed—until it was too late.
