State House erases CSs from official records after Ruto dissolves Cabinet

State House has removed the names of all Cabinet Secretaries from its official listings after President William Ruto dismissed the entire Cabinet, including Attorney General Justin Muturi.

Addressing the press in Nairobi on Thursday, July 11, Ruto justified his decision by citing ongoing protests against high taxes and governance issues.

A check by Standard Digital on the Cabinet section of the website reveals that only the names and images of President Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Njau remain.

 Gachagua, Mudavadi, and Mercy Njau are the only officials not affected by the sudden Cabinet dissolution.

During his announcement, Ruto confirmed the dismissal of all Cabinet ministers and the Attorney General, stating that ministries will now be overseen by their respective permanent secretaries.

He expressed a commitment to forming a more streamlined and effective government in response to public concerns, pledging consultations to establish a new, inclusive administration.

"Upon reflection and listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said and after a comprehensive review of my Cabinet's performance, including its achievements and challenges, I have today decided to dismiss all CSs and the AG, except the PCS and CS for Foreign Affairs. The office of the Deputy President remains unaffected," said Ruto.

The country has endured three weeks of unrest, highlighted by demonstrators storming parliament on June 25 following the passage of a finance bill increasing taxes.

The protests, which have resulted in over 30 deaths, have escalated into calls for President Ruto to step down.
