Quit the talk and get to work, Omari tells President Ruto

Lawyer Danstun Omari during the interview on Spice FM. Nairobi lawyer Danstun Omari has advised President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration to reduce their talk and get to work. He says that it has been one year in office for the administration and some campaign pledges and promises have not been delivered. He was speaking on Spice FM where he advised the President to cut down on his travel and get to work since the country was in the Intensive Care Unit economically. What many people in the administration including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagu and political experts have asked from Kenyans is more time to deliver the promises and pledges since they are still new in office. And Omari says one year later, the noise from the people is still loud as the cost of living remains high, raising more and more concerns. According to him, time has elapsed and things are not getting better and it is therefore, it is time to talk less and to get to work. "It is time for them to stop talking, sit and get work done. They need to own up that the instruments of government are in the current government. Let them sit and work and do that with practical reality," said Omari. According to Omari, President William Ruto is surrounded by incapacitated people who are yet to understand their role in governance. "This is the first time the Head of State is a Ph.D. holder in Kenya. However, when you look at the other four before him, their advisors and the cabinet were very solid. Today when you look at the cabinet, it constitutes political rejects who have no idea what they are doing," he said. Adding that: "A cabinet is what runs the country. So, in this case, you have a president who has a vision but his cabinet has no capacity to understand the nitty gritty of the position they are holding. If they have the capacity; we could have seen the results." To see change in the coming years Omari advises that those who have failed to perform their duties should be fired. Those that remain, on the other hand, ought to be held accountable as they are the steers of the ship; the regime before them did its part. "The noise that is coming from Kenyans is sufficient for anyone on top of the mountain to listen. The President must sit and work. Sack all the incompetent people because they have shown they cannot deliver and while at it allow the organs of government that are created by the constitution to take up their role," he said.
