Kenya is set to take on Zimbabwe at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil on Friday. The selection of the two national teams for two different international matches was done after a round of local matches over the weekend.
Four players led by Amani Nzomo will face the Zimbabwean side that is expected to arrive in Nairobi on Thursday for test matches ahead of the big assignments two days later.
Jamie Murray (captain), William Millar and Lochie Stichbury are also in the team.
“We are ready for the big tussle and it has not been easy to get the cap but we must play as a team to overcome the Zimbabweans who are equally a good side,” Amani told Standard Sports.
Team Captain Jamie Murray was equally elated to lead a side that has versatile talent who should not let the title slip to Harare.

“We expect to give it our best just as the way we have done in the past,” he said in a brief interview.
As the Kenyan men will be tackling the Zimbabweans in Gilgil, the 16-Goal-Kenyan ladies side is expected to take a flight to Lusaka to play the Zambian side a fortnight later.
Izzy Voorspuy, the coordinator of the team said they were in good shape after a series of matches that culminated in their selection during the Mau Molo Cup in Gilgil last weekend at an event that had six different competitions.
“The team played many matches that prepared them for their trip to Lusaka where we expect them to come back with a smile in their faces from Zambia,” said Voorspuy.
The team to be captained by Megan Griffiths are Cheza Millar, Izzy Stichbury and Georgina Millar.
