Kabras Sugar moved six-points clear at the top of the Kenya Cup on Saturday after coming from behind to edge out a stubborn Blak Blad 24-17 at Kenyatta University Grounds.

The 2023 SOYA Team of the Year begun the encounter on the back foot after trailing 10-0 inside the opening 10 minutes.

Brian Mutua cut the gap to 10-7 after Ntabeni Dukisa’s conversion before landing his second try of the game to hand Kabras a narrow 12-10 half time lead after Dukisa missed the conversion.

In the final half, Kabras continued with their momentum, securing a try through David Bunduki for a 17-10 lead after another missed conversion.

However, Blak Blad responded with a try of their own almost immediately to level the scores at 17-17.

Looking for individual brilliance to save the day, scrum half Dan Angwech rose to the occasion, scoring the bonus point try and winner for Kabras who won 24-17.
