Beldad Ogeta scored a hat-trick as Menengai Oilers continued with their impressive start to the 2023-2024 Kenya Cup season after thrashing Mwamba 67-0 at Impala Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Oilers kicked off their season last week with a 45-13 comeback win over Homeboyz in Nakuru, a win they were looking forward to build on away in Nairobi.
Returning Shujaa star John Okoth added two tries to Ogeta’s hat trick in the match where Samwel Were and Alvin Khavali also grabbed a brace each. Johnstone Mungau and captain Ibrahim Ayoo sealed the win.
The Gibson Weru charges wasted little chance to lead 7-0 through Ogeta before Samwel Were went over for an unconverted try to stretch the scorers to 12.0.
Oilers skipper Ibrahim Ayoo also crossed the white wash to confirm the visitor’s dominance, a spectacle show that Beldad Ogeta continued with a center post try before retuning again.
