Police in Samburu County have seized a bhang haul of approximately Sh5.9 million and arrested three suspects believed to be involved in a drug trafficking syndicate between Ethiopia and Nairobi.
The suspects were nabbed at a roadblock in Archers Post when a trailer was flagged down by security officers on Tuesday.
Samburu Police Commander David Wambua said the drug that was packed in 66 bales, weighed 196 kilos and was being transported to Nairobi.
The suspects were identified as 34-year-old Isaack Mohammed Bakacha - the driver of the trailer, and Harun Mohammed Galgalo, 20 and 22-year-old Ali Abdikadir Mohammed - the other two occupants in the vehicle.
The trio will be arraigned in court on Tuesday, January 9.
