Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to address the press on Monday evening at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
According to a press invite sent to newsrooms, Gachagua will hold the press conference from 7 pm sharp, although the agenda of the briefing is still not known.
“Those who need to set up should be at the residence by 5 pm and the rest of the crew by 5.30 pm,” the invite reads in part.
The invite comes a day before his appearance before the National Assembly, where he is expected to respond to an impeachment motion tabled against him.
It is not yet clear if he will appear before the House to defend himself against the 11 charges he faces, including dividing Kenyans on ethnic lines, undermining the presidency, gross violation of the constitution, and corruption.
