Church denies rumours of Cardinal John Njue's death

Cardinal John Njue is alive and in good health, the church has confirmed, dispelling widespread rumors of his death.
Nairobi Auxiliary Bishop Rev. Wallace Ng'ang'a, in a statement on Friday, September 27, reassured the public that there is no cause for alarm.
"His Eminence John Cardinal Njue is alive, and we ask everyone to disregard the baseless rumors," Rt. Rev. Ng'ang'a said.
The church also urged the public to refrain from spreading false information, "particularly on sensitive matters such as this."

Cardinal Njue resigned as the Archbishop of Nairobi in 2021, a position he had held since 2007.
He was the fourth Archbishop of Nairobi and was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2007.
