Governor Lusaka: We are ready for Madaraka Day celebrations

Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka says it is all systems go for the 61st Madaraka Day to be held in the county on Saturday, June 1.
The event, to be presided over by President William Ruto, has drawn national attention to the county and triggered a series of infrastructural developments much to the excitement of locals.
“We are set. There is a lot of excitement and happiness. A lot has happened in Bungoma County, especially within the town. It is a changed town and we are pleased about what has been happening,” said Lusaka in an interview with KTN News.
Among the facilities upgraded in readiness for the annual fete is the 40,000-capacity Masinde Muliro Stadium, which will host the celebrations.
Additionally, streetlights have been fitted across the town and the Matulo Airstrip has also been completed and was used to land President Ruto yesterday to begin his three-day tour of Bungoma County, designed to coincide with and culminate in the Madaraka Day celebrations.
