Ruto asks parastatal heads to slash budget by 30 per cent

President William Ruto has this morning held a meeting with Parastatal Heads and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) at the State House.
Shortly after the meeting, the president communicated that the meeting was to ask the parastatal heads to cut their approved budgets by 30 per cent.
“Our budgets and expenditures must be subjected to rigorous audit to eliminate abuse of public resources. We will leverage technology to maximise the value for money and boost service delivery,” his official tweet reads.
“At State House, Nairobi County, met Parastatal Chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers; asked them to cut their approved budgets by 30 per cent,” he added.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
