Hundreds of travellers have been stranded for hours at Rironi along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway due to a traffic jam.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) says the jam is due to an increased number of people using the route.
“KeNHA alerts motorists plying or planning to use Nairobi - Nakuru Highway of a traffic snarl-up from Rironi occasioned by increased travel for festivities,” says the authority on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
KeNHA said that traffic police officers are actively managing the situation and advised motorists to maintain lane discipline and refrain from overlapping to prevent additional congestion.
