With the national boxing league done and dusted, Kajiado North residents have something to smile about.
The Kajiado North NG-CDF Boxing Cup will be held at Maasai Mall on Saturday and has attracted six clubs.
They are Ongata Rongai Boxing Club, Ongata Rongai Talents, Kiserian, Beasthouse, Ngong and Nkaimuruynya Boxing Clubs.
The six clubs are from the six wards in the constituency. Each club is expected to produce at least 15 boxers for the one-day competition, according to the coordinator Mike Otieno.
Otieno said that having the event in the town is a way of keeping boxers busy on festive season days as they keep on scouting for more talents.

“Scouting of talents is a constant and gradual process that should be done on and-off seasons if we are to come out with some talented boxers who will be incorporated in our junior championships,” Otieno told Standard Sports.
The 2024 season will begin in February next year with the Junior Championships, from the sub branches, to the national level.
Otieno promised fairness in officiating during the tournament.
The championship will start with weighing-in and medical check-ups of the boxers on Saturday morning.
