Former national volleyball champions Cheptil Boys have bounced back to the national scene after emerging the Rift Valley Secondary Schools volleyball champions.

They achieved the feat from a 3-1 win over stubborn Andersen of Uasin Gishu in an entertaining match at Bomet Green Stadium on Saturday.

Kesogon snatched the girls’ volleyball title after overcoming Kosirai from Nandi with straight sets of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-21.

Volleyball coordinator Naomi Kamunjeru said the final matches were entertaining but the winning margins indicated the standards were still not up-to-date.

“We still have some uphill tasks before we come back to our regular standards at the games,” she said.

After stopping former national football champions St Anthony at the Trans Nzoia County Games, St Joseph’s Kitale won the regional title after overcoming former national champions Laiser Hill Academy 2-0.

St Joseph’s also won the girls’ football title after beating Nasokol 2-1 in a tough final match at Bomet Green Stadium.

St Joseph’s also picked their ticket for the national championships in the boys’ 3x3 basketball title after thumping former national champions Laiser Hill Academy 16-11.

West Pokot’s Nasokol won the girls’ 3x3 basketball title to qualify for the national championships after overcoming St Joseph’s Girl in the finals.
