Songs, dance, tears of joy and sorrow marked the end of Nairobi Region Term Two games as winners celebrated their victory, while the losers rued their missed chances.

The newly-crowned champions have now set their eyes on national glory. They are looking to excel at this year’s Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national Term Two games set for July 28 to August 7 in Kisii.

Former national volleyball champions Hospital Hill marked their return to the big stage after many years in the cold. Hospital Hill reclaimed the Nairobi Region boys' title, which they last won in 2017.

Hospital Hill were a force to reckon with in the past and had been overshadowed by Langata High School who dethroned them in 2018 and also won the 2019 title.

Soweto Academy was among the lucky few who retained their titles. Soweto, who have dominated Nairobi and have played at all national games since 2016, downed Brownhill in straight sets of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-5 in a lopsided final.

Soweto captain Sharon Usolo said they are eying the national and East Africa titles.

“Our main objective is to win both the national and East Africa titles. We have been very consistent and have not missed any national games since making our debut in 2016. I believe that just like our opponents we are also good enough and can win both titles,” Usolo said.

The 2022 East Africa boys' football silver medallists Highway Secondary Schools also recaptured their title to book their ticket to Kisii.

In Eastern, reigning East Africa girls volleyball champions Kwanthanze extended their dominance and will be leading the region’s title hunt in Kisii.
