Defending champions Kabras Sugar will be eying to register their third straight win of the season when they host battered Kenya Harlequin at the Kakamega Showgrounds on Saturday in Kakamega.
The sugar millers are currently third on the log with 10 points same as leaders Menengai Oilers and second placed KCB. The three clubs are separated on point difference.
The two sides met during the pre-season match where Quins won 35-24 at the RFUEA.
Kenya Simbas hooker Eugene Sifuna returns to the squad and will be captain against Quins with Teddy Akala starting on the bench.
In Nakuru, last season's runners up Menengai Oilers will be keen on working out their defensive and discipline mistakes ahead of their round three Kenya Cup clash against struggling Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) RFC.
The leaders who have picked two consecutive bonus point victories welcome MMUST who have lost their two matches at the Nakuru Athletic Club with a goal of maintaining their perfect start to the 2022-2023 campaign.
The Nakuru based outfit are currently top of the standings with 10 points and a massive 96 points after their season opening 72-6 win over newbies Catholic Monks and a 24-10 victory over Kenya Harlequin last weekend.
Speaking ahead of today's match, Oilers tactician Gibson Weru said his focus apart from winning is ironing out the mistakes he witnessed in Nairobi last week.
The former Kenyan international is worried about the indiscipline cases witnessed in the Quins match where four of his players were sent to the bin.
"MMUST is a very physical side and we need to be as disciplined as possible because again in the game of 15s you need every player on the field to cover every aspect planned and therefore we don't want to give them advantage," said Weru.
"Two wins in a row is a plus for us as we continue working on our goal of playing better than we did last season."
Oilers had a memorable campaign last season after finishing runners-up in the Kenya Cup and won their maiden major title after lifting the National Sevens Circuit.
