Paulo Sérgio Oliveira da Silva (1974-2004) - A Brazilian footballer who died due to a fatal cardiac arrest 60 minutes into the match

The Sevilla and Spain wing-back Antonio Puerta died aged 22 after collapsing during his side's match against Getafe.

Phil O'Donnell, 35-year old Motherwell captain collapsed as he was being substituted during his side's win over Dundee United. He died of heart failure.

Marc-Vivien Foé (1975-2003) - A Cameroonian international footballer, who played in the midfield for both club and country, collapsed on the field and died of a heart attack in 2003.

Miklos Feher died playing for Benfica in 2004 after collapsing from a heart attack just before the end of a League game with Vitoria Guimaraes.
