A field of 100 golfers from Nakuru and Njoro Golf Clubs is scheduled to play the eighth leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at the evergreen par 72 Nakuru Golf Club on Saturday.

Players will be fighting for the top prizes and an opportunity to represent the club at the tour’s grand finale slated for December 6th in Nairobi where two top teams from the tourney will qualify for the Pro-Am event.

Club Captain Barnabas Kemboi said they are honored to be part of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour for the second year after hosting a successful event in 2023.

“Our course is well-kept so, I expect a huge turnout who will relish this tournament that has gone a long way in building a critical pool of talent in the country and across the region, “said Kemboi.

The Club will see a beehive of activities from Saturday through to Monday with the Amateur tournament ushering in a Juniors’ Golf clinic on Sunday and a tree planting session during the same day as part of KCB’s objective to make the game accessible to all.

KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications officer Rosalind Gichuru said they are living up to the promise they made last year to make the golf series bigger and better.

“Nakuru is home for us that is why we are heading there for the second year running to foster a golfing culture around the region. Through this tournament, we are able to grow the game to an elite level, “said Gichuru.

Teams from Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Nandi, Kakamega, Mombasa, Nyeri, and Nairobi have already secured their places in the tournament’s grand finale where a total of 30 players have currently booked their place at the December’s event.

From the previous legs, the regional tourney has reached over 3000 participants and over 1000 Juniors through the clinics that ran concurrently with the series.

To further strengthen the competition, KCB partnered with Beulah City Ltd, a property firm, who have committed to give an apartment (in the Ikhaya Beulah Genesis project) valued at Sh.2.1 million as the hole in one prize for every leg of the 2024 tour.
