KCB FC will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2024-2025 FKF Premier League season when they face Ulinzi Stars at the Police Sacco Stadium.

The league leaders, under the guidance of head coach Patrick ‘Luwowo’ Odhiambo, have begun the new campaign in excellent form, securing seven points from three matches.

Two consecutive victories, along with an opening-day draw, have propelled them to the top of the standings, and they are now keen to continue their impressive run.

KCB’s most recent success was a 2-0 win against Posta Rangers, a result that further solidified their status as early-season favorites.

Prior to that, they comfortably saw off Murang’a SEAL by the same scoreline after drawing 1-1 with Kariobangi Sharks in their first game.

The squad’s blend of attacking flair and defensive resilience has been key to their strong performances, with Odhiambo’s side yet to concede a goal in their last two outings.

Ahead of the clash with Ulinzi Stars, coach Odhiambo is aware of the challenge his team will face but remains confident in his players’ ability to deliver.

“Ulinzi are a strong opponent, and we expect a difficult game. They haven’t started the season well, but we are preparing to handle them,” said Odhiambo during a recent training session.

“The boys are in high spirits, and scoring goals has boosted the squad’s confidence. We hope to continue this momentum and secure another win.”

Ulinzi, meanwhile, will be looking to turn their season around after a slow start. Despite their struggles, they remain a formidable opponent, and KCB will be wary of the threat they pose.

However, as KCB goalkeeper Shikhalo pointed out, maintaining focus and effort is crucial if they are to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

“We respect every opponent, but we are taking it one game at a time. Our goal is to keep this momentum going and get maximum points from each match,” said Shikhalo.

The goalkeeper has been instrumental in pivoting the team to top performance, since the beginning of the season, he has not conceded any goal and his coach believes he will continue maintaining the same tempo.
