Kelvin Etemesi scored a second half brace as Nairobi City Stars came from behind to defeat AFC Leopards 2-1 in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League match played at Nyayo Stadium on Monday.

Victor Omune gave Ingwe a narrow 1-0 first half after scoring in the 18th minute.

Leopards were looking to bounce back with a win after last weekend's disappointing 2-1 defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz in the FKF Cup semifinals but Etemesi had other ideas.

The City Stars top scorer restored parity in the 65th minute before sealing the win with his 10th goal of the season at the death.

The win now sees City Stars who are 15th with 33 points confirm their league status next season.

Simba wa Nairobi are 10 points clear off the relegation zone with three matches left.

City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti congratulated his boys for not giving up despite conceding in the first half.

"Completing a comeback against a formidable side like Leopards is not any mean feat and I want to give it to the boys for not giving up. Our goal was to stay safe and now that we have confirmed our league status next season, the object is to finish on a high," said Muyoti.
