Divock Origi was given a guard of honour in respect of his achievements at the Club as the 2021-2022 English Premier League season ended on Sunday.

Origi, who was left to watch the final Premier League game of the season behind the bench, was given a fitting send-off by his teammates and club manager Klopp, who paid tribute to the striker.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed Origi’s departure prior to the meeting with Wolves, hailing a “Liverpool legend” and “one of the most important players I ever had.”

The son of former Harambee Stars striker, Mike Okoth is set to join AC Milan on a free transfer, with the Italians capitalising on the striker’s expiring contract.

Following their 3-1 win over Wolves, Origi, who suffered a muscle injury in training the day before the Wolves match,  was presented with a Champions Wall plaque, having contributed to the incredible success under Klopp so far, and a signed photo collage signed by his teammates.

Origi Injury doubts for the Champions League Final

Jurgen Klopp, however, on Sunday evening confirmed Divock Origi will miss the Champions League final due to injury.

Origi is beloved by Liverpool supporters but he’s been unable to establish himself as a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

He has become more renowned for scoring important goals than making many appearances — chief among them being the winning strike against Barcelona in 2019.

The striker first joined the Reds back in 2014 as a teenager, before spending the following year on loan at Lille.

The Belgium international has netted 22 goals from 107 league games for Liverpool.

Having played a decisive role for Jurgen Klopp’s men, including in our magical comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League, the former Lille hitman will be well-missed in Merseyside.
