Imagine being a young footballer aspiring to be at the top, playing for Barcelona and you’ve just scored your first UEFA Champions League goal – stuff dreams are made of, right?
Imagine your name, after scoring, being added to the Guinness Book of Records. What’s better?
This is what befell Barcelona superstar Anssumane Fati Vieira, commonly known as ‘Ansu Fati’, who has now been added to the record book, for being the youngest-ever player to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League, when he got a goal against Inter Milan in a group stage tie on December 10, 2019.
Fati’s goal, ensured the Catalans remained undefeated at the end of Group F qualifying, consequently knocking out Inter out of the competition.
He scored this goal at the age of 17 years and 40 days – the youngest ever player to do so in the competition.

In his debut season (2019/2020), Fati scored a total of seven goals, providing ne assist in 33 appearances.
His feat has now been added on page 2014 of the Guinness Book of Records.
