The late Fred Omondi.

Popular comedian and content creator Fred Omondi is dead.

Omondi, who was the younger brother to Eric Omondi, was involved in an accident along Kangundo Road on Saturday morning and his body was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital morgue.

According to a police report seen by TNX, the deceased was on a motorcycle which collided head-on with a Forward Travellers Bus resulting in his death on the spot.

The bodaboda rider suffered multiple fractures and was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.

Omondi was set to host an event at BVB Lounge in Meru this weekend alongside DJ Becky.

Eric Omondi took to his socials to confirm the sad news writing, "Go well brother".

Comedian Terrence Creative, on his part, recalled the support he got from Fred when he was starting in the industry.

“TODAY AT 6AM IVE RECEIVED THE SADDEST CALL EVER ??Inauma saana…… Fred, I thank God for the time He gave us together bro, you’ve been part of my career and growth in the industry, you always treated me as a brother and hosted me when I had nowhere to go, gave me a stage and paid me, together we started club comedy shows, I will always treasure the moment we shared the stage together from Tribeka, Taj Mall, Hearts, I club etc till we got to Churchill show and then to hosting our first Tv show together: Ktn Crazy Comedy. Together we suffered, together we learned and together we inspired, made people laugh and created great memories.

"All this I will treasure and hold dearly, Freddy ulikuwa muungwaana ,i have a lot to say about you but all i can say bro is that you did well and you shall be remembered and missed, Go well bro.

Mammito described the late Omondi as a kind man who did not hesitate to share opportunities with fellow comedians and always pushed her to be her best version.

"As a young comic, you gave me so many club shows and when I was nervous because I was performing after ladies had twerked vigorously you encouraged me to go on stage and do my thang !!!! That gave me the balls I have today! I’ll miss you bro ! RIP.
