DJ Joe Mfalme speaks out after arrest in officer's death

DJ Joe Mfalme has issued a statement in response to his recent arrest connected to the alleged assault of Kabete Police Station Deputy DCIO Felix Kelian.

In his statement released on March 24, 2024, DJ Joe Mfalme expressed his deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those impacted by the unfortunate incident that led to the officer's death.

DJ Joe Mfalme, along with his team, is said to be in close collaboration with investigative agencies following the incident that occurred on March 16, 2024, after what was described as a "non-injury traffic accident" around 4 am within Kikuyu market.

Inspector Kelian succumbed to his injuries on Friday while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital.

In his public statement, Mfalme confirmed his full cooperation with the ongoing investigation and extended his cooperation as may be required by the authorities.

"DJ Joe Mfalme and his team are fully committed to participating in the investigative procedure and will continue to extend their cooperation as may be required," read part of the statement.

Mfalme also called for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the matter, placing his trust in God and the authorities to uncover the truth.

"We place our trust in God Almighty in particular and the authorities in general to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation aimed at uncovering the truth," read the statement.

Adding: "Given the ongoing investigations and the sensitive nature of the matter, we shall refrain from making any further statements at this time."

The statement concluded with an acknowledgment of the support Mfalme has received, saying, "We deeply appreciate your understanding and unwavering support. We shall pursue to update you once the investigations are complete."

Three police officers have also been arrested in connection with the incident that led to the death of Deputy DCIO Kelian.
