Ex- AFC Leopards coach Eymael banned for two years and fined Tsh8million by Tanzanian Football Federation

Former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael has been banned for two years and also fined  sh400,000 by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF). 

Eymael, 60, was fired as coach of Tanzania Premier League side Yanga Africans  following his racist comments in the media where he compared the club's baying fans to 'monkeys and dogs'.

“The TFF disciplinary committee has decided to ban coach Luc [Eymael] for two years and also fine him Tsh8million for the racist comments he made towards Yanga fans,”  TFF said in a statement on their official Twitter account.

Eymael has reportedly apologised for his comments and it remains to be seen if he will ever be offered a coaching job on the continent again after this outburst.

South African Football Coaches Association (Safca) has also written to its government seeking to block any application for a work permit from the Belgian coach in future.

The 60-year-old has coached across the African continent at the likes of AS Vita, AFC Leopards, Rayon Sports, Al-Masr, Al-Merrikh and Tala'ea El Gaish.

The controversial mentor also coached AFC Leopards‚ Free State Stars and Polokwane City in South Africa.
