KCB secured an important 3-1 win over DCI in the ongoing fourth leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation women's National League at the Nyayo Stadium Indoor arena on Saturday.

The team registered a 25-21 victory in the first set before losing the second set 21-25 to the detectives who proved too strong. The bankers would however make a statement in the last two sets winning 25-19, and 25-18 to record their second win this weekend.

KCB coach Japheth Munala handed his captain Edith Wisa a starting spot in the first set who came from the bench in yesterday's match. The skipper made excellent blocks that steered KCB to glory in the encounter.

"We started very well in the first set, but the second set was not so good because we made a lot of mistakes that cost us that set. We, however, rectified and improved in the last two sets. Today's win is important for us because it is a morale booster going to an even tougher fixture tomorrow," said Edith Wisa, KCB Captain.

Coach Munala also handed Malkia striker's setter Esther Mutinda a starting spot in the first set and the star proved too classy for the opponents. She was imperious from the first to the last set.

This is the first competitive outing for KCB since the African Club championship in Tunisia. The team finished fifth in the continental championship this year having won the title last year.

The bankers will face their arch-rivals Kenya Pipeline who finished second in the African Club Championship on Sunday at the same venue from 1:30pm
