KECOSO games: Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) crowned 2024 netball champions

A well-drilled Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) are the new netball queens during the finals of the 43rd edition of the Kenya Communications Sports Organization (KECOSO) games which is currently underway in Nakuru county.

The netball match between PCK and Ministry of Roads and Transport (MoRT) was undoubtedly a highlight of the day as the PCK emerged as the clear winners, defeating MoRT with a staggering score of 119-4.

Nancy Opiyo shone brightly in this match, not only being named the best player but also scoring an astounding 83 goals, showcasing her exceptional talent and prowess on the court.

In the football arena, the Communications Authority (CA) faced off against Nakuru County, securing a decisive 2-0 victory.

A standout performance from Amunike Joshua, wearing jersey number 20, proved pivotal in this match.

He opened the scoring with a penalty in the 71st minute, followed by another goal just six minutes later, solidifying CA's dominance.

The game also saw Nakuru County's Malo Otieno receive a caution in the 33rd minute, reflecting the competitive nature of the encounter.

In scrabble competition, matches showcased the strategic prowess of the Ministry of Roads and Transport (MoRT), who delivered an impressive 6-2 victory over the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

However, in a closely contested match against the Communications Authority, MoRT fell short, losing 3-5, highlighting the high level of competition in this year's games.

The Table tennis events provided several exciting matchups. In the men's category, Kabarak University faced Nakuru County but lost 0-3.

MoRT also encountered Nakuru County, ending with a score of 1-3. The standout performance came from PCK, who decisively defeated CA with a score of 3-0.

In the ladies' events, KAA triumphed over CA with a score of 3-1, while NAC dominated KAA with a 3-0 victory, showcasing the depth of talent in women's table tennis.

In snooker, MoRT faced CA and suffered a 0-3 defeat, with Patrick Kimani achieving the highest break of the day with an impressive 11 points, demonstrating his skill and precision on the table.

As the KECOSO competition continue, the upcoming finals games for several disciplines are expected later today at various playgrounds in the county.

Netball (Show Ground), Scrabble (Kabarak), Darts (Kabarak), Basketball, Volleyball, Pool and snooker.

With the excitement of the games reaching a fever pitch, athletes and spectators alike are eager to see who will emerge victorious in the concluding events of this prestigious tournament.

According to the officials, the KECOSO Games have once again proven to be a platform for showcasing talents, sportsmanship among participants from various organizations.
