In just his first game in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League, Ugandan forward James Ssemambo has already noticed the differences between Kenyan football and the leagues he previously played in.

The former Kyetume FC player from the Ugandan Premier League and 2023 Burundi league winner with Bumamuru FC joined Simba wa Nairobi during the offseason.

Ssemambo made his top-flight debut as a second-half substitute in Simba wa Nairobi's 0-0 draw against Bidco United on September 14 at Dandora Stadium. Reflecting on his experience, the forward highlighted the distinct nature of the Kenyan league.

"In my first game, I can already see a lot of difference from the Burundi and Ugandan leagues. The physicality and the speed of the game are top-notch," Ssemambo noted.

With his eyes on more opportunities, Ssemambo is determined to adapt quickly. "I will now work towards adapting to the new situation as soon as possible, as I chase more games-more so, starts," he added.

Ssemambo is one of several new faces at Simba wa Nairobi this season, alongside defender Brian Opinde, left-back Stephen Bulugu, and winger Andre Kalama. As he settles into Kenyan football, the Ugandan international is eager to make his mark in the FKF Premier League.
