SCHOOLS: It's Maseno vs national champions Onjiko in Kisumu County basketball 3x3 finals

Maseno School will renew their rivalry with national champions Onjiko High School in the finals of the Kisumu County Secondary School basketball 3x3 boy’s finals on Saturday at Maseno basketball court from 11am.

The final will be a repeat of the Group A preliminary match that Onjiko won by six baskets.

Maseno School knocked out Nyabondo 15-10 in the semifinals to reach the finals as Onjiko crushed Chulaimbo Boys 21-7 in the other semis.

Maseno begun the games on Thursday with a commanding 21-6 and 21-4 victories over Kasagam Secondary School and Chemelil respectively before completing their Group A preliminary match with a 19-13 defeat to defending champions Onjiko.

In the quarterfinals, Maseno knocked out Kisumu Boys 21-7.

On the other hand, Onjiko who are unbeaten so far in the three day championships will be seeking to continue their dominance over Maseno in the finals.

Apart from edging out the hosts in their last group match, Onjiko thrashed Chemelil and Kasagam 18-6 and 21-4 respectively before seeing off Thurdibuor 21-9 in the quarters.

The final between Onjiko and Maseno will be played at 11am.

In the girl’s category, defending champions Nyakach Girls will face off against St Barnabas.

Nyakach thrashed Rae Girls 21-5 in the semis while St Barnabas narrowly saw off Kisumu Girls 14-13 in a closely contested semifinal.
