Kenya Cup: Who will finish top between Kabras Sugar, KCB and Oilers?

It's a three-horse race to finish at the top of the Kenya Cup standings as Kabras Sugar, KCB Rugby, and Menengai Oilers maintain their unbeaten runs, setting up an intense battle for the right to host the final.

With all three teams locked at 35 points after seven rounds, the pressure is mounting as they look to edge each other out in the final stretch of the regular season.

The team that finishes at the summit of the standings will automatically earn the right to host the final, a privilege that Kabras Sugar has enjoyed since 2019, turning Kakamega into a fortress for the championship decider.

KCB are second with a point difference of 313, while Oilers, in third, have accumulated a difference of 264 points.

Over the weekend, Kabras once again showcased their ruthlessness, dismantling KU's Blak Blad 62-6 to extend their remarkable unbeaten run in the league, which stretches back three seasons.

Their consistency has been built on a well-structured player development system that ensures a steady pipeline of talent.

With their eyes set on a fourth consecutive Kenya Cup title, Kabras remain the team to beat, but their challengers are not far behind.

KCB continued their pursuit with a commanding 38-16 win over Kenya Harlequin, proving they are ready to push the millers all the way.

Oilers, too, showed resilience, overcoming a spirited Nondescripts side 34-25 in Nakuru to keep their title ambitions alive.

Elsewhere, Kisumu RFC stunned Mwamba with a 25-5 victory, delivering one of the standout results of the weekend. South Coast Pirates capitalised on home advantage to blank Nakuru 17-0 in Diani, while Strathmore Leos edged Impala 21-14 in a closely contested encounter.

In the KRU Championship, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) continued with their unbeaten run, bagging their eighth consecutive win with a 35-13 triumph over TUM Marines.

Daystar Falcons edged Homeboyz 22-20 in a tense battle, while CUEA Monks held off Western Bulls 6-3 in a low-scoring affair. JKUAT Cougars secured a hard-fought 22-17 victory against Zetech Oaks, as Mombasa SC overcame Mean Machine 22-5. USIU-A Martial wrapped up the weekend's action with a narrow 10-7 win over UoE Trojans.
