Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship leaders Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will square off against Western Bulls in the Kakamega Derby at the Bull Ring.

MMUST coach John Asila is optimistic about his side's preparations and their aspirations for Kenya Cup promotion.

"We've had a great season so far, but every match is a new challenge. The Kakamega Derby is always intense, but our focus is on executing our game plan and continuing our push for promotion," Asila remarked.

MMUST are unbeaten in their opening five matches and will be seeking to consolidate their top spot with their sixth straight win.

In other Championship fixtures, Daystar Falcons host TUM Marines in Athi River, while USIU Martials take on Mean Machine in a varsity derby. Former Kenya Cup side Homeboyz will travel to Juja to face JKUAT Cougars, and Catholic Monks head to the Coast to play Mombasa RFC.

With thrilling encounters across both the Kenya Cup and Championship, rugby fans are in for an action-packed weekend.
