Griffins Chao scored seven tries as Kabras Sugar humiliated Kisumu RFC 137-7 in the final Kenya Cup match of the year played at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

Kenya Simbas winger Chao scored seven tries, Jone Kubu netting a hat-trick while debutant Jackson Siketi and Roy Muruti added a brace each in the massive win where Walter Okoth, Collins Indeche, Patrick Lumumba, Humphrey Asiligwa and Alvin Mutachi also scored.

The defending champions led 75-0 at the break before adding 62 points in the final half.

Fijian born Kenyan international Jone Kubu set up debutant Jackson Siketi for the first try to lead 7-0. Kubu added the extras as the miller’s continued to pile more pressure to Kisumu and the scores quickly turned 21-0.

First, Chao crossed over before Walter Okoth went over the whitewash for the hosts, tries that Kubu converted.

Hillary Salano grabbed Kabras bonus point try minutes later, when he sold a dummy to Kisumu’s defence to score as Kubu made it four conversions in a row for 28-0.

The fly half turned to scorer moments later after linking up with youngster Roy Muruti for 35-0 after converting his own try.

Chao grabbed his second try and Hillary Solano, entering the scoresheet for the first time, added Kabras sixth and seventh try, as Kabras continued to add more points to their tally.

Kubu missed Chao’s try conversion but bounced back to convert Solano’s try48-0.

Two tries from Griffin Chao and Alvin Mutachi ensured Kabras went into the break with arguably their biggest lead in a Kenya Cup at halftime, with 75-0 lead.

In the final half, Chao added two quick unconverted tries for 85-0.

Kubu would complete his hat trick, Siketi, Asiligwa, Muruti, Indeche and Lumumba sealing the big win for the sugar men.
