KCB are the 2024 Kabeberi Sevens champions.

The bankers retained their title after thrashing Menengai Oilers 29-5 in the final played at RFUE Grounds on Sunday.

Floyd Wabwire got the bankers off to a flying start after picking a well-executed offload from the returning Kenya Sevens captain Vincent Onyala and crossing over the white wash for a 5-0 lead.

KCB who were good with their kick off immediately regained possession and after a few passes, Onyala turned provider again after offloading to Emmanuel Opondo who raced to score near the posts for a converted try that took the scores to 12-0.

Former Shujaa star Jacob Ojee would lift the thousands of fans up from their seats after bulldozing his way to the try line, completing a big hit on Dennis Abukuse before scoring near the corner for a 17-0 lead.

Festus Shiasi made the banker's half time break even more comfortable after completing a quick tap and go restart by Opondo from a penalty to score near the corner for a 22-0 lead at the breather.

In the final half, Oilers were penalized for poor kick off, a penalty Asati capitalised on by a another quick tap and go to release Opondo whose pair of wheels caught the Oilers defense napping, a run that would be completed by Asati who scored a center post try for a 29-0 lead.

Rising Shujaa prodigy Abukuse would score Oiler's consolation try as the KCB emerged 29-7 winners.

Oilers who also finished runners up in the Dala Sevens leg played in Kisumu went home with silver.
